5-Point Personal Inspection Checklist For Worship

1. WHAT IS MY ATTITUDE BEFORE WORSHIP?
    “To some who were confident of their own righteousness and
     looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable” v 9

2. HOW IS MY APPROACH TO WORSHIP?
    “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the
     other a tax collector.” v 10

3. WHO IS MY AUDIENCE FOR WORSHIP?
    “The Pharisee stood and prayed about himself…” v 11a

    “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to
     pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be
     seen by others.” Matthew 6:5

4. WHAT IS MY AGENDA DURING WORSHIP?
    “The Pharisee stood and prayed about himself: ‘God, I thank you
     that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or
     even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of
     all I get.’ But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not
     even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have
     mercy on me, a sinner.’” v 11-13

5. WHAT IS MY ASSESSMENT AFTER WORSHIP?
    “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified
     before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled,
     and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” v 14

    “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?
     Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please
      people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10
